Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using The Guest Log (the "Service"), whether as an event organiser or a guest, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a plan or create an organiser account. Guests must be at least 13 years old to use the upload feature. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements.

3. Organiser accounts

Organisers create an account during the Stripe checkout process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your email address up to date. The Guest Log may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.

4. Events and QR codes

Each purchased plan entitles you to create the number of events specified in your plan. Events are associated with a unique QR code generated by The Guest Log. You may reproduce and distribute the QR code solely for the purpose of allowing guests to access your event gallery.

You are responsible for ensuring the QR code is only shared with your intended guests. Do not publish event QR codes publicly online unless you intend for anyone to access the gallery.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload, share, or encourage guests to share content that:

  • Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or harmful
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains nudity or sexually explicit material
  • Depicts or promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
  • Constitutes harassment or bullying of any individual
  • Contains malware, phishing links, or other malicious code

The Guest Log reserves the right to remove content that violates these rules and to terminate accounts of repeat offenders without refund.

6. Organiser responsibilities for guest data

As an organiser you are responsible for informing your guests that their phone number will be used for OTP verification and that their uploads will be stored by The Guest Log. By creating an event and sharing a QR code, you confirm that you have a lawful basis for guests to share their data in this manner.

7. Content ownership and licence

Guests retain all intellectual property rights in the content they upload. By uploading content, guests grant The Guest Log a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display (within the event gallery), and allow the organiser to download the content, solely for the purposes of providing the Service.

The Guest Log does not claim ownership of any uploaded content and will not use it for advertising or any purpose beyond operating the Service.

8. Payment and refunds

All prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of applicable taxes. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

One-time plan: Non-refundable once your event has been created and your QR code generated.

Monthly plans (Pro, Agency): Billed monthly in advance. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

If you believe you have been charged in error, contact hello@theguestlog.com within 14 days and we will investigate.

9. Storage and data deletion

Media is stored for the retention period associated with your plan. After expiry, media is permanently and irreversibly deleted. The Guest Log is not responsible for any loss of data after the retention period ends.

We strongly recommend downloading your media well before the retention period expires. Organisers receive an email reminder 30 days before their event storage expires.

10. Service availability

The Guest Log aims for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime, data loss, or interruptions to the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, The Guest Log shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to The Guest Log in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify organiser account holders of material changes by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
